The following are two engineering projects completed during my time at LSU. The first is a novelty hose bib from Intro to Engineering Graphics and the second is an athletic training cart from Sophomore Design.
Intro to Mechanical Design - Custom Pretzel Hose Bib
Project Abstract:
Our design is a hose bib used to restrict or release the flow of water. We chose a pretzel because it would be easy to turn and appear fun for all ages. The pretzel hose bib would be a novel addition to any collection. Out with the boring wagon wheel-shaped hose bibs as the standard. The market of decorated hose bibs has been uncharted territory for far too long. That is until our magnificent, yet twisted invention entered the field: the pretzel hose bib!
Sophomore Design - Athletic Training Cart
Project Abstract:
The goal of this project is to design a portable, lightweight utility cart for the athletic trainers and staff. The main inspiration for our design’s collapsibility is the plastic folding crate, using the front and back panels to keep the folding sides rigid until the user collapses the cart. It consists of four pneumatic rubber tires, two swinging panels, two side panels with hinges, and a retractable handle for steering. The product will ideally last for several years.
